Use better images in PowerPoint

Lose the cringey stock photos from your presentation and get creative. We explain why you should use better images in PowerPoint.

Many of us see PowerPoint presentations on a regular basis. Many of us would probably also admit to feeling pretty uninspired by them, especially when unimaginative, cliched images are so frequently plastered across each slide.

That’s why it pays to get creative with the pictures you select to illustrate your presentation deck. Don’t be one of the thousands of people who Google “business meeting” and use the first picture that pops up. An uninspiring image of scarily-enthusiastic business people sitting around a table certainly isn’t going to win you the pitch or wow your audience.

Instead, try to think outside of the box and interpret your point in a different way. Images that are thought-out as well as visually appealing will have more of an impact than any cringe-worthy stock photo.

If you’re looking for a way to make your PowerPoint presentation stand out above the rest, use better images. It’s always worth dedicating time to finding engaging images that really compliment your message.

Where to find them

Finding that perfect snap can seem like quite a difficult task. But fear not! If you want interesting, good quality (and free) images for your next presentation, there are plenty of online resources at your fingertips.

Websites like Unsplash, Pexels and Pixabay offer ever-expanding libraries of great quality images that will really impress. These sites make it easy for you to be imaginative by offering artistic and unique images that you might not otherwise have considered using.

Most importantly, pictures downloaded from these websites can be used for commercial purposes without accreditation, so there’s no need to worry about accidentally breaking any copyright laws. Result!

In your next presentation, it is well worth taking a little extra time to consider which images can actually help to convey your message. By avoiding cliched photos and embracing a more creative approach to image selection, you will be in with a far better chance of engaging your audience and leaving a lasting impression.
